MELBOURNE | The Creators Lounge is an American style bar & diner in Footscray that offers a selection of great drinks along with toasted sandwiches, loaded fries, burgers, hot dogs and jaffles.
It’s located above one of our favourite banh mi spots in Melbourne, Nhu Lan, who are actually the landlords for the space that the Creators Lounge calls home. It’s an open, casual spot with leather couches, a free pool table, NBA on the big screen TV, and arcade machines.
For drinks its a focused selection of cocktails that riff on the classics, spirits wine and beer. It’s local beers on tap with a few more local and international options on offer in bottles and cans. We haven’t eaten here as yet, but have heard good things about the food, and in particular the sandwiches and jaffles. The cubano sounds particularly appetising, with BBQ pork, ham, chilli, aioli, mustard, double cheese, and sweet pickle relish in between a toasted baguette. Of particular interest to vegans is the fact that there are several options across the menu that are vegan friendly.
As well as operating as a bar, you can also get your haircut at the Creators Lounge. Whatever your thoughts are on the changing landscape in Footscray, there’s no denying that the Creators Lounge is a fun place.
