The Slipway, Lakes Entrance

LAKES ENTRANCE | I was in the mood for some fish and chips after an active morning on the beach in Lakes Entrance, and found some quality ones at The Slipway (formerly known as Reggie’s Slipway until it was sold, I assume by Reggie, in 2018).

No nonsense here. Fresh, locally caught seafood, with a thick, but not heavy, batter, deep fried in regularly changed oil. All the basics done right.

I went for the “Seafood Box”. Fish of the day (I believe it was gummy but to be honest I can’t remember and didn’t write it down), scallops, prawns, calamari, and chips. Chicken salt, vinegar, lemon, and tartare sauce. Exactly what I was craving.
