GEELONG | The Worker’s Club Geelong is the southern outpost of the popular Fitzroy live music venue, and brings much of the same to Geelong, albeit with a local twist. Located in a former auction house, the building has been stripped back to it bones to reveal exposed brick walls and wooden rafters. It’s a space that makes the most of the building’s bones while not feeling tired.

A live music venue lives and dies by the quality of its acts, and the focus at The Worker’s Club is for it to be a venue for everyone, all music and places. Lots of local artists can be found playing here on a given week, across a diverse range of genres, which helps keep the venue fresh.

It’s not just about the music though. The food here is American BBQ, predominantly Texas-style, and features the usual suspects like brisket, pulled pork, lamb ribs and sandwiches. And of course, there’s mac and cheese – in this case fried mac and cheese balls. Drinks wise there’s a lot on offer, including local craft beers, wines, spirits and cocktails.

All in all, The Worker’s Club offers a lot to those who walk through it doors, and does enough to differentiate itself from the Fitzroy venue, giving Geelong another great live music and food venue to call its own.
