LONDON | If you find yourself in Marylebone and are looking for breakfast, lunch or dinner, recently opened local café, Turie, offers a new option with decent, honest gourmet food and organic coffee.

We visited recently on the back of an invite from the venue, and were greeted by smiley, friendly staff and a cozy, bright little space. We spoke to the chef, Morgan, who has 20 plus of experience in the industry, and told us how he makes everything from scratch, from the main dishes to the salads, the sauces to the bakery delight bites.

Turie offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, along with a decent range of delicious salads and bakery goods to go. To our delight, Turie also has a special brunch menu for Saturdays. We chose to have the full English breakfast, since it is the standard test for breakfast quality, accompanied by special dish of the day – wild boar sausage on mash with thyme jus. With its many ingredients cooked to perfection, the English breakfast was fresh and heart-warming, the highlight being the perfectly executed scrambled eggs. The wild boar sausage had a good, distinct flavour, and went really well with the intense reduced veal stock jus.

On the side, we had a mixed salad of roasted aubergines, sweet potatoes, lentils and no-mayo coleslaw. This healthy concoction is very popular with the yoga students at a nearby fitness studio, and it’s easy to see why. The salad was full of flavour, fresh and vibrant.

To finish, we savoured some freshly-baked banana bread, and a good cup of coffee. What a way to start the weekend – a real no-nonsense, friendly, honest local’s delight.
