SAN FRANCISCO | Wise Sons Jewish Delicatessen has a name that tells you exactly what it is. A deli selling all kinds of Jewish food favourites in a part of the country that’s often been starved of good options when it comes to the classics that New Yorkers take for granted.

Nearly everything and Wise Sons is made in house, using top quality ingredients, with founders Evan Bloom and Leo Beckerman ensuring that a dedication to quality and flavour is maintained throughout.

The rueben is an obvious crowd pleaser, featuring pastrami & corned beef made with beef brisket and brined in a proprietary blend of spices. The pastrami is smoked for nearly seven hours over real hickory wood and the result is delicious. Also make sure you try the babka, which is filled with 62% bittersweet Guittard chocolate and lots of butter. If it’s a bagel you’re after, you can’t go past the version with organic smoked salmon and double whipped cream cheese.

There’s a lot to like at Wise Sons, and while it may be true that the food you get here doesn’t always stack up to the best versions of what you can find on the East Coast, we challenge you to walk away from a meal at Wise Sons without being satisfied.
