SYDNEY | 4 Pines Brewing Company have come a long way since they were a small brewer creating beers in their Manly brewpub and brewery. They’re now owned by global behemoth AB InBev, and a have a few brewpubs dotted around Sydney’s Northern Beaches area.
The 4 Pines Truck Bar is located inside the Brookvale warehouse that houses their HQ and main brewing facility, and is named for the red 1960 Dodge pickup truck that has been converted into the actual bar. It’s a great space that has a real casual vibe about it. The warehouse is large and open, so you can see the operating brewery, but nothing feels contrived. In fact, it’s surprisingly cozy. There’s a large projector playing sport, and pinball and shuffleboard on the mezzanine level.
On tap you’ll find 21 taps pouring 4 Pines’ entire core range along with a number of limited Keller Door releases and two wines for those who don’t feel like beer. The Indian Summer Ale and Nitro Stout are always good bets from the core range, while the Keller Door range includes interesting things like (at the time of writing) a Spiced Pumpkin Ale and New England IPA. There’s the option of a tasting paddle so you can try a few things if you like. The bar does growler refills and sells bottles to go too.
For food it’s a selection of burgers and some bar snacks. The ‘Lincoln Hawk’, with tow beef patty, double cheese, smoked bacon, tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles & hawk sauce, is great.
Also worth visiting are 4 Pines other venues, the Public House Newport, Manly Brewpub, and Beer & Bread Belrose.
