MELBOURNE | Beast CBD is the city outpost of popular Brunswick East burger bar The B.East. Occupying the space that was formerly home to 8 Bit CBD, the concept is simple – great burgers and American comfort food in a casual space. I recently visited on behalf of What’s on Melbourne.
All of the favourites from the original location are on the menu here, along with some venue specific treats. Try the ‘Ron Swanson’ – wagyu beef patty, gruyère Jack cheddar, horseradish aioli, caramelised onion, and bacon. The optional beef reduction for dipping is a must. If chicken is more your thing, the Clint Beastwood is a must. Southern-fried chicken, pickles, honey mustard BBQ sauce, Jack cheddar, and slaw.
For sides, try the poutine (not technically poutine as it uses Jack cheddar instead of cheese curds, but it’s still great), mac and cheese croquettes, and Deathproof hot wings. To drink, it’s milkshakes, beer, wine, and cocktails, with a focus on local producers.
Keep an eye out for weekly events and nightly specials like meat-free Mondays, chicken wing drag bingo, bottomless brunch, and limited collaboration burgers and sandwiches.
