LONDON | BrewDog Shoreditch is one of the many BrewDog pubs that exists around the world. It’s hard to believe that only a few years ago there was only one BrewDog bar but no matter how much they keep expanding, the quality somehow manages to remain good. We’ve been to BrewDog pubs in the UK, Hong Kong and Japan and haven’t had a bad experience yet.
BrewDog Shoreditch, formerly home to craft ale purveyors Mason & Taylor, is the second, and one of our favourite BrewDog pubs, with a very good selection of BrewDog and guest craft beers available on the upstairs and downstairs taps. There’s also always a few interesting finds in bottles in the fridge too. The upstairs space features a large glass wall which looks out onto the street while the downstairs part with its neon sign above the stairs advertising “More Beer Down Here”, offers a literally and atmospherically underground vibe. Both spaces have an industrial feel, with lots of steel and iron and exposed bits and pieces – all very Shoreditch.
Back to the beer, and BrewDog’s beers are familiar to most these days. The Punk IPA and 5AM Saint are always reliable drops and there’s generally always something you haven’t tried before. Downstairs you’ll find a few different beers along with some interesting beer cocktails. Food wise, it’s burgers and buns with some classic and not so classic flavour combinations.
It’s always busy here, the beer’s always good and fresh, and it’s always a good time.
