MELBOURNE | Coldstream Brewery have been brewing beers since 2007, ever since good friends Mike Basset, Rohan Peters and 3 other mates decided to rebuild an old wool store in the Yarra Valley. The brewery has become quite successful in the intervening years, and these days production occurs in larger facilities offsite, with the original brewery acting as a brewpub and function space.

It’s a relaxed venue, rustic and small, with the main bar, and a second bar/live music space out the back. On the taps at any given time you can find the four core range beers, two ciders, and seasonal releases. If you can’t choose from the selection, the option of a tasting paddle is conveniently available. We recommend the refreshing Golden Ale and Apple Cider. For the non beer drinkers in your group, there are a variety of local wines on offer, along with a few cocktails.

Food wise, it’s all about pub food that goes well with drinks – pizzas, burgers, tacos, pies and the like.

Paul founded The City Lane back in 2009 as a place to share photos of his travels around Europe with friends and family. The City Lane might have changed quite a lot since those early days but one thing that’s remained constant is Paul’s passion for food, travel and culture, and a desire to photograph and write about his experiences. Paul has a strong inquisitive nature that drives him to look beneath the surface in order to discover what really makes a city and its people tick, and what better way to do this than over a good meal or drink, with a city’s locals, at places that people who live in that city actually frequent. Paul is also a co-host of The Brunswick Beer Collective, a podcast that may or may not actually be about beer.
