MELBOURNE | Collins Quarter occupies a Victorian terrace, built as consulting rooms and a residence in 1872 by Dr. Robert Martin, and has been operating as a bar and restaurant since 2007. The entrance retains all of the Victorian era charm, as does the interior when you first walk in, but there’s more to this venue than meets the eye.
To one side is Doc Martin’s aperitif and digestif bar. Continue walking, and you pass through Colin’s Pub, the open Magnolia Courtyard, and modern Blind Alley and Pink Alley Bars out the back. During the day, the space works for a quick coffee and breakfast, and transforms as the night draws near. An impressive range of top shelf spirits are used to make some great cocktails, while the wine cellar is full of great wines from around the world. For beer lover’s there’s an impressive range of local craft beers on tap, along with more local and international beers in the fridges.
Food has modern European influences, and uses fresh, local ingredients for dishes ranging from bar snacks and share plates to more substantial bites.
