LONDON | Draft House Chancery is the newest outpost of the Draft House chain of craft beer pubs. I used to work just around the corner from here a few years ago and there was very little to keep the craft beer drinker happy so it’s a great addition to the area. Much of the attention has been put on the fact that Draft House Chancery has Pilsner Urquell available directly from the tank but the real reason to come here is the same as why you visit any other Draft House pub – the craft beer.

On offer are 4 cask and 14 keg beers, and a very impressive list of around 120 bottles and cans. A lot of local brewers are on offer here, such as Fourpure, Camden Town, Siren and Beavertown, along with some interesting international drops. My hot tip is to visit during the generous happy hour where you can get pretty much any of the beers on tap, even the rare and more expensive ones, at a very good price in smaller pours.

Food wise things tend towards the American pub grub end of spectrum – burgers, hot dogs, wings, tex-mex tacos and the like. It’s not going to revolutionise gastronomy, but it’s tasty fare that does the trick.

If you work in this part of town (and even if you don’t) and enjoy craft beer, then Draft House Chancery is definitely worth taking a look at.
