RECIPES | Christmas is just around the corner, and we think it’s a fantastic excuse to try some festive inspired cocktails. The folks over at Estelle Bistro agree, and have kindly shared with us their recipe for this Japanese-citrus-Christmas influenced cocktail. Yeah there are a lot of influences here, but the only thing you need to know is that the cocktail tastes delicious, and will be sure to impress your lunch/dinner guests this Christmas.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes / Serves 1
Ingredients
The Thyme Lime Mandarin Syrup
- 50ml lime juice
- 100ml mandarin juice
- 80g sugar
- 6 sprigs fresh thyme
The Cocktail
- 30ml thyme lime mandarin syrup
- 50ml Mukai Shuzo Sake
- Prosecco
- Thyme sprigs – for garnish
Method
The Thyme Lime Mandarin Syrup
- Place all ingredients in a saucepan and simmer gently for 5 minutes. Leave to cool then strain.
The Cocktail
- Place syrup and sake in a cocktail shaker.
- Add ice, shake well.
- Strain into a coupe cocktail glass, top with Prosecco and garnish with a sprig of thyme.
Notes
If you don’t have any Mukai Shuzo Sake, any sweet Sake will do.
