Fable, Melbourne CBD

MELBOURNE | Fable opened in November last year and has the distinction of being the highest rooftop bar in Melbourne. I visited the launch on behalf of What’s On Melbourne to check it out.

Located on the 13th level of the Greek Community Building, the space, which used to be a Greek restaurant, has been renovated to make the most of the views, with a retractable roof and heaters for year ’round use.

It’s a simple concept at heart, head mixologist Alessandro Nardini, of Nick and Nora’s fame, has created a cocktail list inspired by fables. Both traditional fables and the tall tales told by the team’s rellies (we’ve all got that one family member who likes to spin a good yarn, right).

Food wise, it’s former Press club chef Alex Xinis and his team cooing up a Mediterranean menu inspired by the building’s, and Alex’s, heritage.

I had to leave before the mains arrived, but a few share plates and cocktails (swipe across for photos), coupled with that amazing view was all I needed to guarantee that I’ll be back again.
