MELBOURNE| Ines Wine Bar is a stylish and quaint bar which has just landed in Windsor. Matteo Bruno, mastermind behind Hana and The Meatball & Wine Bar brings us a European style wine bar with old school vibes and a sophisticated menu to match.
Named after Matteo Bruno’s grandmother, the space brings warmth and a sense of luxury when you walk through the doors. You are transported to a different era, with rich aged accents, velvet furnishings and Italian marble. It is a place where you can escape the busy week, unwind and lounge whilst listening to a soundtrack of old school classics.
A neon sign “sometimes you wine, sometimes you booze” reminds us that we can get carried away with the extensive wine selection that Ines has to offer. Sommelier Raffaele Mastrovincenzo has curated a wine list that encompasses over 80 different wines from Europe, mostly Italian and French.
The plates are designed to be shared and are Italian and French inspired, drawing inspiration from the wine list. We sampled the fresh oysters served with champagne mignonette, oven baked goats cheese with pistachio crumb and the delicately Fried stuffed olives. Larger plates are also available if you are feeling hungrier, such as Bistecca grilled eye fillet and fresh pasta with grilled prawns. The chocolate dusted Tiramisu is a must try and a perfect way to polish off an evening.
Ines Wine Bar attracts a stylish crowd, offering a luxurious interior and a beautifully crafted wine list and menu. It is a perfect place to spend a cold Melbourne winter night, with great company and wonderful food and wine.
