MELBOURNE | Inward Goods is a hole in the wall cafe in Richmond from the team behind one of our favourite Melbourne cafes and coffee roasters The Vertue of the Coffee Drink. It shares a space with indoor cycling group Cycle Collective, and is a great addition to the area.

It’s a simple space, a bare bones warehouse fitout behind a roller door. There’s the counter, coffee station and space to prepare a few food items, and some seating dotted around. It’s all geared towards take away and coffee and quick eats – think things like halloumi and roast vegetable toasted sandwiches, falafel buns with hummus, chilli, slaw and tomato, granola and yoghurt cups, cherry danishes, croissants, and custard tarts. It’s all simple, tasty stuff.

The main reason to come here is of course the coffee, and being run by the Vertue team means that the coffee is excellent. Whether its a house blend or rotating single origin espresso, filter, hot chocolate, chai, matcha latte or whatever else you fancy, it’s all quality here. Even better, you can buy beans to take home along with almond, soy, and cow’s milk. A simple concept executed fantastically.
