SYDNEY | Nomad Brewing Co. Brookvale was founded in 2013 by Kerrie and Johnny Latta of Experience It imports, who decided to expand their wine and beer import business by making their own beer. To brew the beer they brought in Leonardo di Vicenzo from Italian craft brewery Birra del Borgo along with his one time brewing protege Brooks Carretta, who was brewing in New York at the time. The result was Nomad Brewing Co.

Their attitude towards brewing is to not be dictated by trends and to explore the use of native Australian ingredients, which has seen some interesting beers brewed over the years. The “Freshie” series of beers for example are Goses with Northern Beaches salt water combined with ingredients like Tasmanian mountain pepper, coffee, caramel and desert lime. There are lots of collaborations with highly regarded brewers around the world too like Jester King, Cigar City and Dogfish Head.

At the brewery visitors will find the ‘Transit Lounge’, a small bar which opens out to the brewery behind and car park out front. The taps feature Nomad’s full range of beers along with a few guest taps of some of the newest and most interesting beers that Experience It have recently imported. You can also buy bottles and cans to take away. Along with the aforementioned Freshie beers we highly recommend the Granite, a 5.0% ABV a pomegranate pale ale and Rosie’s Summer Punch, a refreshing 3.5% ABV Berliner Weisse with hibiscus.

There’s no kitchen on site but on Saturdays there’s a rotating selection of food trucks along with live music.
