S10E10: The All New Brewers Feast

PODCAST | In this whirlwind episode, we wander the hallowed grounds of Brewers Feast beer festival where we jump from brewer to brewer, talking with the great people from CoConspirators Brewing, Watts River Brewing, Forrest Brewing, Holgate Brewing, and Harcourt Valley Winery. It’s a journey packed full of surprising beers, incredibly-questionable puns, and occasionally-shoddy audio choices – particularly as we race against the growing volume of the festival stage. Consider it a snapshot of what it’s like to wander around a fun beer festival… while holding an oversized microphone.

And if that wasn’t enough, Chris annoyingly continues his mocking of NEIPAs and on several occasions refers to beers by their wrong name. Lastly, we discover the unexpected joys of mead and wonder if it will be the new, um… something?

Note: Have you noticed how many notes there are in these descriptions of late? Well here is another one. We’ve tried our best to smooth out the audio, but between the bands, the soundcheck, and the intense heat, things get a little choppy at times. You’ll hear what we mean when you get to the Holgate part.

Chris is an editor, writer, and occasional novelist who in a former life published online magazines for a living while working out of obscure coffee shops. He has travelled extensively and has eaten and enjoyed exotic delights ranging from instant ‘just add water’ potatoes while on a Russian train to snails and Brie from a tiny Montreal kitchen. Chris is a great lover of the experiences around and associated with food and believes the culture of a venue, as quirky or strange as it might be, is just as important as the food it sells. He is also a co-host of The Brunswick Beer Collective, a podcast dedicated to the lighter side of craft beer.
