PODCAST | Is Barleywine really life? In this, the final episode of season 15, we talk about the high alcohol, crushing, night-ending glory of the Barleywine beer style. We also ask: what makes a good Barleywine? Who did it first? And why the heck does it even exist? Finally, we harp on about the difference between the English and the US Barleywine, and we once again consult Jeff’s t-shirt for just where the style fits among its beer style brothers and sisters.

This is the last episode in our season covering the greatest, or sometimes just the most popular, beer styles of the world. We’ll be back with a brand-new season in a month or so.

Featured beer: Barleywine (2018) by Hawkers Beer and Little Beast Barleywine by Hallertau Brewery.
