MELBOURNE | Small Patch Wine Store is a Hawthorn bottle shop that not only specialises in the wines that its name suggests, but also craft beer and cider. Owner Craig Donnachie has created a venue where the people who are working there really care about what they’re selling – many of the wines and beers contain hand written tasting notes, and a quick chat with whoever is behind the counter will set you on the right path if you’re not sure what you should buy.
More than just a shop, Small Patch’s license also allows them to serve alcohol in store, so you can pop in and enjoy a drink on the communal table in the centre of the store if you like. Also keep an eyes out for free tastings which are held regularly in store. There are a a few snacks here, and if you’re looking for something more substantial, you’re able to bring your own food in to enjoy with your drink.
