MELBOURNE | The Melbourne Smokehouse was started by UK born chef and bike mechanic Danny. He’s been making smoked salmon, mackerel, and other cured fish at home, inspired by the traditional smokehouses of London and Scotland. This year, he decided to take the plunge and start selling it.
I first tried it as part of the 5 Dime Bagel lox pack and was a big fan. It’s the closest I’ve found in Melbourne to the smoked salmon I like at Russ & Daughters. You can find Danny’s smoked salmon at a few places around town, and he’ll be launching an online store soon. Keep an eye out on his Instagram account for further news.
