MELBOURNE | Recently opened, Tokosan is a casual Japanese bar and restaurant whose uber cool vibes and nightlife ambience suitably classify it as the sassy ‘little sister’ of popular Japanese restaurant, Toko, which recently closed to make way for Tokosan. Their recent launch event was abuzz with excitement, showcasing the social atmosphere that Tokosan encourages through their spacious venue, indoor lounge garden, DJ-spun tunes and karaoke room! All complimented by authentically contemporary snacks and cocktails.
A mixture of exposed brick walls and colourful umbrellas lining the roof contribute to the neon-lit setting, whilst the Japanese-fusion theme extends from the Izakaya-like food through to the vending machine sitting outside the karaoke room. (If you’ve been to Japan, you will know how popular vending machines are over there!) This isn’t the place you would bring your grandma, but grab your mates and partners and you’ll be in for a cheekily fun night. If you liked Toko, but thought it was a bit too serious, Tokosan will be right up your alley.
