UNITED STATES OF AMERICA | On Friday 7 February 2020, breweries across North America will give away at least a keg of beer each in support of Australian bushfire relief efforts as part of the Beer for Bushfire Relief appeal.
The effort will see breweries from across the USA and Canada give 100% of the keg’s proceeds to Australian bushfire relief efforts through the Australian Red Cross, the World Wildlife Fund, and Wildlife Victoria. This concerted effort, spearheaded by Melbourne-based Instagrammers and podcasters The Brunswick Beer Collective, is expected to raise over AUD$20,000.
“The bushfires have devastated Australia,” said Brunswick Beer Collective co-founder Paul Kristoff. “When we reached out to breweries in the USA, we never expected such an strong and welcoming response. The support has been incredible.”
Drinkers can find out if their local breweries are participating by checking out their social media channels or visiting the official, brewery/venue list (updated daily) at www.bit.ly/beerforbushfirereliefbbc.
