MELBOURNE | Nestled amongst the trendy café district of Hardware Lane, opposite the famous Hardware Societe lays White Mojo, a cafe that’s savvy enough to know the importance of “Instagramability” in this day and age. With an innovative menu and trendy, minimalist interior, White Mojo certainly stands up to the fierce Melbourne competition. Open every day of the week, this café fulfills every foodie’s dream, offering a range of classic brunch dishes with a unique twist.

White Mojo’s extensive breakfast menu caters to dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian and vegan requirements. Amongst the cafe’s immensely photograph worthy dishes is the signature White Mojo Croissant Burger, filled with soft shell crab, pickled cucumber, chipotle mayonnaise and fried egg. Moreover everyone’s favorite option, if Instagram posts are anything to go by, is the Cauliflower Pannacotta, served alongside black pudding dust, Canadian scallop, crispy pancetta, 63°C egg, dehydrated red onion and potato popcorn.

After much deliberation, we decided to choose a sweet and savoury dish from the menu. We started with the Zucchini Fritters, two zucchini pancakes topped with crunchy green kale, seasonal greens (broccoli), fried haloumi and a poached egg, on a bed of pumpkin puree. Incredibly satisfying and wholesome, not to mention healthy, the fusion of flavours and textures combined in this dish are divine.

Now onto my favourite, sweet treats! We couldn’t resist the Belgian Waffles, served with seasonal fruits, lemon curd, meringue and freeze-dried berries. Aesthetically a work of art, this beautiful dish totally satisfies that sugar craving. The sweetness of the lemon curd and meringue are offset perfectly by the berries, whilst the waffles themselves are light and airy – a dish you can’t help but fall in love with. And if dessert is really your thing, you can’t miss the gorgeous, colourful selection of cruffins and donuts at the counter!

Great coffee and a mouth-watering, imaginative brunch menu, head down to White Mojo for a stand out Melbourne breakfast experience. If a trip into the CBD doesn’t take your fancy, White Mojo have recently launched in a second location in Balwyn, which aims to replicate what the CBD store is doing right.
