PORTLAND | 10 Barrel Brewing Co Portland is, like Deschutes up the road, a Bend based brewery that has set up a brewpub in the Pearl District. It’s a large space with enough seating for 175 people, and that doesn’t include the recently opened rooftop bar which seats up to 80 people and 8 more at the bar. There’s lots of exposed concrete and wood, including furniture that’s been hand made in-house.
Of course, the most important part of any brewpub is the beer and 10 Barrel doesn’t disappoint. Across the 20 taps you can find the year round core range, along with one-off and seasonal beers. Some of the one offs are brewed at 10 Barrel’s Bend and Boise locations while some are brewed on-site at the Pearl District brewpub. All the beers are available on taps both inside and upstairs. The flagship beer, the Apocalypse IPA is a fantastic example of a West Coast IPA while the Crush Cucumber Sour is a good introduction to those who haven’t yet been sold on the idea of sour beers.
On the food front it’s all about “elevated pub food”. Think high quality versions of classics like pizza, burgers and salads created using locally sourced ingredients. Like the beer, the entire menu with table service is available on the rooftop as well as inside.
10 Barrel’s Portland brewpub is a great place to chill out in no matter what the time of year, but when the weather’s cooperating, the rooftop bar makes things extra enticing.
