TOKYO | Beniton is a bit of a divey izakaya which offers affordable, tasty food in a vibrant space. Popular with nearby salarymen looking for a few drinks and a feed after work, the atmosphere is a lot of fun. There’s not much in the way of English spoken here – our tip is to ask for whatever the staff think is good, and see what comes out. We did that when we first visited and were treated to a variety of tasty dishes like karrage (fried chicken) with mayonnaise, sizzling pork with grated daikon (white radish), beef skewers with mustard on the side, and cabbage with a spicy dipping sauce. Perfect bar food to enjoy with a cold glass of Asahi Super Dry.
