Cusco Craft Beer Guide

CUSCO | Cusco isn’t a city that you think about when talking craft beer, but in recent years a few spots have made an effort to provide great beer to visitors and locals who want more than Cusqueña, Pilsen and Cristal. There’s not much, but there’s enough variety at each of these venues to do the trick nicely.

Peru has undergone a craft beer renaissance over the past few years, and the Peruvian craft beer scene now has several breweries making not only great examples of core range styles, but also experimental beers. Sours and hazy IPAs are being created and native Peruvian fruits and ingredients are being used in the brewing process to create some truly unique beers with flavours you won’t find elsewhere in the world.

Nuevo Mundo creates beers inspired by Peru’s diverse regions, while Barranco produce some fantastic award winning drops. Meanwhile bars like Cholos provide a great selection of beers from breweries across the country, and further afar, that aren’t found elsewhere in the city.

Here’s the list of our favourite craft beer brewpubs, bars and bottle shops in Cusco. Is your favourite here?
